E=mc2…a JDILLA love story to hip-hop
Presented by the James Dewitt Yancey Foundation, 3rd Eye Promo & East End Studio Gallery

One night only exhibition:  Saturday, March 18, 2017/6-10PM/$5 entry

JDILLA was an American record producer and rapper who emerged from the mid-1990s underground hip-hop scene. According to his obituary at NPR, he “was one of the music industry’s most influential hip-hop artists”, working with big-name acts including A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, The Roots, The Pharcyde and many others.

This exhibition will pay tribute to his memory and contributions to hip-hop music and culture.  His mother, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, will be in attendance for the signing of her children’s book “The life story of James Dewitt Yancey”.  Join us as we embrace the artistry of JDILLA and the influence of hip-hop culture in this one night only event!  Music by DJ Kool Emdee…The Vinyl Veteran! & DJ Harvey Dent.
